Connecticut and Rhode Island YMCA Alliance in conjunction with The Connecticut Forest and Park Association is sponsoring a Connecticut Walking program - www.walkct.org – and invites YMCAs to link to its website and list walking trails and sites. Walking is one of the easiest walking exercises, and a good way to get in the habit.

Here come the Scouts

The Y plans to start a Venture Troop which will be geared to the needs and desires of the youth we will serve. Venturing is for ages 14 through 20 and is coeducational. Venturing is a new concept in Scouting, only about 20 years old in an organization that celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2010. We need 5 adult volunteers for the Unit committee to get things going. Unit leaders are standing by If you have ever been a scout (boy or girl) or are interested in providing a nurturing environment for local youth we need to hear from you. contact us at Interested in helping Do not worry that you might not know what to do.
