The YMCA of Norwalk is a community organization, welcome to all which enhances the lives of its members through programs and services that focus on the values of Caring, Respect, Responsibilty and Honesty. Our mission is to reflect and serve our diverse community, so that we may strengthen our members in spirit, mind and body.

Did You Know the YMCA of Norwalk...

provides individuals and families annually with fee assistance enabling them to participate in programs and services during times of economic or personal crises.

has a multigenerational center with volunteer adult role models that interact with teens who are at-risk discover, perhaps for the first time, how it feels to be safe, liked and valued.

provides employment for more than 10 professional staff, 15 full-time support staff and 120 part-time and seasonal staff to serve the community and surrounding neighborhoods with high-quality and innovative programs.

provides a state-of-the-art fitness center, aquatic facility, gymnasium and gymnastics center in a 1927 vintage building with caring staff who are trained and certified to help individuals achieve their goals and dreams.

operates an after school program within five Norwalk schools. Children get help with homework, make friends and have fun while their parents are able to continue to work knowing that their children are in a safe and nurturing environment.

provides program fee assistance to more than 100 children annually who experienced fun and adventures at YMCA Day Camp so that they could have a head start on absorbing the values that will serve them throughout their lives.

provides swim lessons to school-age children each year. Children learn a valuable life-long skill as well as know and understand how to be safe around open water.

receives more than 600 hours of volunteer service from community residents annually. Adults serve as volunteers in a variety of ways from serving on the Y's Board of Directors, on one of its many committees, as a program leader or many other volunteer oppurtunities within our YMCA.
